For 17 days and nights each spring, Spoleto Festival USA fills Charleston, South Carolina’s historic theaters, churches, and outdoor spaces with performances by renowned artists as well as emerging performers in opera; theater; dance; and chamber, symphonic, choral, and jazz music. Now approaching its 43rd season, Spoleto Festival USA is internationally recognized as America’s premier performing arts festival. This year’s festival starts on May 24th and runs through June 9th. Celebrate the end of the school year with your family at the annual Nighttime at the Museum on June 7th from 6-8pm and discover how history comes to life! Nighttime at the Museum features costumed re-enactors, special displays, an exciting scavenger hunt, crafts, and fun demonstrations. The lights will be low, so bring your flashlight! What’s better than live music with a water view? Head to Party at the Point every Friday evening in June through June 28th at the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina. This event features various artists and vendors, as well as food and drinks. This event is kid friendly and runs 5:30-8:30 pm. If you can’t make it to Party at the Point, you can try to make it to Party at the Park. This event is a free concert series follows the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market at the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park on Tuesdays. This event runs from 6 – 9 pm. Get ready to boogie! Head over to the Mount Pleasant Pier on June 15th at 7 pm for the Shaggin on the Cooper Series. Dance the night away to beach tunes, oldies, classics, and line dancing hits! Timber me shivers! Are you ready for the Charleston Rum festival maties? This year the festival is Saturday, June 22nd from 7 – 11 pm. This festival features 20 distilleries and 35 life altering cocktails. For tickets and more event information, visit their website.Hit the open waters for Cruising for a Cause. Enjoy a delightful 2-hour cruise aboard the Carolina Girl on June 23rd, from 2-4 pm. Tickets are $50 per person, which includes the cruise and music (tickets are non-refundable).
