September is always a busy time of year in the Lowcountry. Everyone is trying to get their schedules adjusted with the kiddos back in school, but it’s fun to liven up the routine with events around the Lowcountry. Check out some of my favorites here: 

A favorite for all foodies, Charleston Restaurant Week is running September 4th – 15th. For a full list of participating restaurants, head over to Charleston Restaurant Week.

Join the galleries of the Charleston Gallery Association on September 6th from 5-8 pm in celebrating art and artists in our monthly First Friday Artwalk. Gallery hop while special exhibitions, meet the artists, and enjoy refreshments with other art lovers. For more information, visit their website here. 

The Southeast Crab Fest is back on James Island! This September 7th event offers the Low Country Coastal Heritage of outdoor cooking of fresh seafood. This highly anticipated event will offer ALL YOU CAN EAT fresh Blue Crabs, one side of Fish & Chips, Snow Crab Legs Platter (Optional), Music and a Family Friendly Environment for the entire family. Who let the dogs out? Charleston county parks are letting the pups take over the water parks after the season ends for us humans at Dog Day Afternoon. Dates run September 7th – 8th. For more information on this furry water frenzy, head over to The Charleston County Parks event page

Celebrate Charleston Beer Week September 7th – 14th. These events are a great chance to taste the local beer selections at restaurants and breweries all over the Lowcountry. Check out Charleston Beer Week’s Event Page for more details. 

Another fun September event for the family this year is Charleston Water Week. Running September 7th – 15th, this event features various water-related activities that encourages everyone to enjoy that salt life! For more details on activities, events, and locations, head over to their website

Charleston Farmers MarketRunning every Saturday in September Downtown Charleston in Marion Square. Find more details here.

Head out for a Sunday-Funday on King Street September 8th for Second Sunday on King! Enjoy vendors, music and a car-free – King Street. Check the website for more details of the day and a free parking voucher! 

Enjoy wine, live music, and food trucks during Wine Down Wednesdays at Olde Town Creek County Park, September 11th and the 25th from 5-7pm. For tickets and more information, visit:

Paws on the Patio is happening on September 12th to benefit The Charleston Animal Society. This event is a fun happy hour that includes your four-legged friends! For more details of the event, check out their Facebook event

Head over to Summerville on September 19th – 21st for a Lowcountry favorite – the 8th AnnualSweet Tea Festival. This event is located in Historic Downtown Summerville. Check out their website for more details.
