Plunge into the New Year with the 7th Annual Bill Murray Look-alike polar plunge on January 1st on Folly Beach. Luckily the event doesn’t start too early if you have a late-night on New Years – with the costume contest judging at 1 pm and the big plunge at 2 pm. What a fun way to start the year with a contest and a challenge!

One of everyone’s favorite weeks is happening in January! Charleston Restaurant Week runs January 9th – 19th! Enjoy specials at some of the most popular restaurants in Charleston! Head out for a Sunday-Funday on King Street January 12th for Second Sunday on King! Enjoy vendors, music and a car-free – King Street. Check the website for more details of the day and a free parking voucher! 

Mark your calendars for Taste of Folly on January 18th from 10 am – 1 pm. A celebration of Folly food including local restaurants selling food and drinks on the street, local vendors, live music, kids’ area, and silent auction.

The 40th Annual Charleston Boat Show will be held on January 24th – 26th this year. This show is a kick-off to the Charleston boating season. If you’re interested in purchasing a boat, this show is a must-do! It’s a great way to meet experts, ask questions, and get deals on the boat of your dreams!

Food truck fans won’t wanna miss the 9th Annual Charleston Food Truck Festival! Running in Park Circle on January 25th and 26th from 10 am – 4 pm, this free event features 25 food trucks from around the SouthEast. For more information, visit their website

The 37th Lowcountry Oyster Festival is January 26th at Boone Hall Plantation. This is the world’s largest oyster festival, featuring 80,000 pounds of oysters! Time to get serious about those new year resolutions at the Charleston Health & Wellness Expo. This event is January 31st from 10 am to 7 pm at the Omar Shrine Temple. This event includes health screenings, oral health, health awareness, and even pet health information. For more details, visit:
